At the first thematic workshop in virtual format, Hélène Gervais of RECYC-QUÉBEC and Caroline Fortier of Environnement Côte-Nord presented their perspectives on developing the circular economy in northern regions. Representatives from the five participating communities and their partners then shared their impressions of the challenges and opportunities encountered.
The mandate carried out by SOLINOV for RECYC-QUÉBEC and the Société du Plan Nord includes supporting five northern communities in their waste management and circular economy initiatives. A profile of the waste stream was first presented to each of the communities: Baie-Comeau, Havre-Saint-Pierre, Chibougamau, Nemaska, and Radisson.
