SOLINOV held a second thematic workshop, in a virtual format, to allow representatives from five northern communities and their partners to discuss the issue of illegal dumps. Presentations from Environnement Côte-Nord, the City of Baie-Comeau, and the Chibougamau-based not-for-profit “Une chaudière à la fois” (One Bucket at a Time) set the stage for discussion regarding the scope of the issue and its impacts. Furthermore, methods for identifying and cleaning up these sites, as well as awareness and prevention measures, were highlighted.
